Christmas week saw the biggest sales for Adele’s record 21 as last minute shoppers purchased 399,000 copies of the chart queen’s album.
This brings the grand total to 5.68 million copies sold, making it the best selling album in the U.S. Adele has moved more units than any other artist since 2004 when Usher’s Confessions sold 7.9 million copies.

Adele has taken the music world by storm and each new release is ecstatically received by millions of fans. After her last release Adele quickly began working on a new single. Her next official single was rumored to be “Rumor Has It” however Columbia Records has changed it to “Set Fire To The Rain” as opposed to the other song. The new song by Adele is set to be released on airwaves on November 21, 2011 and will be on Pop Radio in December!

“Set Fire To The Rain” truly was an excellent choice and has been well received everywhere, delighting fans and critics alike.

Adele is looking better than every on her brand new magazine appearance, Cosmopolitan 2011 December issue.
She named Etta James and Aretha Franklin as her favorite singers, saying if you looked up singer in the dictionary you would find them and not her. She also talks about guys that have done her wrong in the past.

“We’d be watching the X Factor and my family would tell me I should go on. But then you’d see a parent on the show saying ‘My child is the next Mariah,’ and the kid would be rubbish. So I’d look at them and think, F–k you, you just want me to be embarrassed for a good laugh.”
On the guy who inspired Rolling in the Deep:
“Things went tragic between us, and we broke up. I’m fine without him, but I don’t want to be without him and I still miss him.”

“It’s so hard for me to share my feelings. I’ve actually never told a guy I loved him. I’ve felt them; I just can’t say them. My friend recently convinced me how important it is for a guy to know that. I wound up writing letters to all the men I’ve been with, telling them that I did feel that for them. Tags: To help alleviate the problem, Columbia Records announced that Adele will be operated by the throat. It is expected to make a full recovery, but had to cancel all Remaining tour dates and promotional games a year. The doctors advised him to “fully recover before looking for a specific job commitments.”

Adele has been forced to cancel her upcoming 10 city sold-out tour of the U.S. due to a haemorrhage into her vocal chord. Vocal chord issues forced the British singer to postpone dates earlier this year as well. Adele has just wrapped up touring around the UK and was preparing to kick off her US tour on October 7 in Atlantic City, NJ when her illness reappeared (see below for full list of cancelled US tour dates). Renowned for her powerful live vocal performances, Adele has been advised by doctors that she’ll need an extended rest period in order to begin to recuperate properly. Further details to follow regarding these cancelled dates. Refunds may be obtained at point of purchase.

Who is she?
Adele Laurie Blue Adkins was born in London, England on May 5, 1988 to a single teenage mother. Despite the hardships her mother faced, she ensured that Adele had a great childhood. Adele developed an early passion for music and singing, however. At the young age of four she began singing, influenced greatly by the female group known as the Spice Girls. Adele often tried to impersonate the female singers at parties and around her friends.
As Adele grew older her music interests changed from the pop girl band Spice Girls and it shifted to something more mature and soulful; R&B. Some artists that particularly caught Adele’s eye were Aaliya, Mary J. Blige, and Destiny’s Child.
Early Career
Adele attended The BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology and graduated in May 2006. While attending that school Adele confessed she was more interested in helping others with their musical careers than her own. Despite her desire to help others, she did write two songs that were published in an online magazine titled PlatformsMagazine.com and she even recorded a demo track for a friend. Her friend then took the demo and put it up on MySpace where it became quite successful and caught the attention of a music label titled XL Recordings.
When Adele was contacted by XL Recordings she was asked to come in for a meeting and after one thing led to another Adele was eventually assigned an official representative named Dickens in June 2006. Adele was then signed with XL in September of the same year and she then began her career.
How did she become famous?
After headlining at the MENCAP Little Noise Sessions in 2008, Adele was awarded the BRIT Awards Critics’ Choice. After that she then produced her first hit single titled ’19’. It was titled because she wrote it at the ripe age of 19 and it became an instant success, topping all of the British charts.
From there her career skyrocketed and she produced her hit album in 2008 and has continued to write and produce incredible songs that top charts worldwide.
